PRIVACY POLICY.

1. Information you provide

• Account information, including your email address and authentication information.
• Profile information you choose to provide, such as display name, age or date-of-birth information, profile details, photos, and preferences.
• Messages, chat photos, private-album content, What's Happening posts, reports, appeals, blocks, and other content you submit.
• Optional health-reminder settings, such as STI screening, HIV testing, PrEP follow-up, or PrEP injection reminder preferences.
• Support or safety communications you send to CruiseBoard.

2. Location information

Nearby features use foreground device location to determine whether you are in the current service area, retrieve nearby content, and order profiles by relative proximity. When your profile is visible on the Board, CruiseBoard stores a reduced-precision location by rounding coordinates to approximately two decimal places (roughly one kilometer, varying by latitude). Exact coordinates and exact distances are not displayed to other members.

Precise coordinates may be processed temporarily when your device requests nearby features or checks the service area. CruiseBoard's backend receives coordinates for these requests before reducing the stored Board location. Depending on platform and feature, device geocoding services may process coordinates. On the web, BigDataCloud may receive coordinates to convert them into a general locality, and Open-Meteo's geocoding service may receive city-search terms when you search for an area.

When Board visibility is turned off, CruiseBoard does not continue updating the stored Board location for visibility purposes.

3. Activity and device information

CruiseBoard records limited activity information needed to operate features such as broad online-status labels, security, and moderation. If you enable activity status, other members may see broad labels such as Online now, Active today, or Active recently rather than your exact last-active timestamp.

If you enable push notifications, CruiseBoard stores an Expo push token linked to your account. The Expo push service and the device platform's notification service process the information needed to deliver notifications. A message notification may include the sender's display name and a short message preview or a description such as “Sent you a photo.”

4. How information is used

• Provide accounts, profiles, messaging, local discovery, community posts, health tools, and other requested features.
• Keep the service secure, investigate reports, enforce the Terms and Community Guidelines, and prevent abuse or fraud.
• Send service communications and notifications you enable.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and improve CruiseBoard.
• Comply with legal obligations and respond to valid legal process.

5. Service providers

CruiseBoard uses service providers to operate the app, including Supabase for backend infrastructure and authentication and Expo services for app infrastructure and push notification delivery. Location or geocoding features may also use platform geocoding services, BigDataCloud, Open-Meteo, or mapping services when you choose to open directions.

CruiseBoard does not currently use third-party advertising SDKs and does not sell personal information for advertising.

6. Moderation access

Authorized moderators may access account information, reported content, relevant message history, and other information reasonably necessary to investigate safety reports and enforce CruiseBoard rules. Moderator access should be limited to legitimate safety and operational purposes.

7. Health-related information

Optional health-reminder choices can reveal sensitive information about your sexual-health routines. These settings are stored privately and are not displayed on your profile or intentionally shared with other members, clinics, or community organizations. CruiseBoard Health is an informational and scheduling resource, not a medical provider and not a substitute for professional medical advice.

8. Retention and deletion

Account information is generally retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, CruiseBoard removes or de-identifies associated account data as part of the deletion process. Limited information may be retained when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, dispute resolution, or enforcement integrity. Data may also remain temporarily in normal backup systems until those backups cycle out.

You can initiate deletion inside the app or through the Delete Account page.

9. Your choices

• Turn Board visibility on or off.
• Control whether activity-status information is shown to other members.
• Choose whether to grant location and notification permissions through your device settings.
• Block other members and report safety concerns.
• Delete your account and associated data.

10. Adults only

CruiseBoard is intended only for adults age 18 or older. People under 18 may not create or use an account. If you believe a minor is using CruiseBoard, report the account in the app or contact safety@cruiseboard.org.

11. Changes to this policy

CruiseBoard may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above and, when appropriate, providing notice in the app.
